Once upon a time the tallest skyscraper in the world was the Empire State Building in Midtown Manhattan.
Now – as many of you know, it’s the Burj Khalifa in Dubai (featuring in cinematic masterpieces such as Fast & Furious 7).
While the Middle East is home to 20% of all “supertalls” (a building that’s taller than 300m) that is set to change.
China which had almost no skyscrapers before 1980, is now home to more skyscrapers per person than the US.
70% of supertalls under construction right now, are being built in China.
I wonder how that’s going to play with their current property crisis…
